Mineral-Rich Foods: Consuming mineral-rich foods will help maintain proper hydration and support the HPA axis. My favorites are celery, cucumber, and seaweeds. I like Sea Snax which are really tasty, totally keto, and provide a ton of healthy minerals.
There are different types of MCTs: caproic acid (C6), caprylic acid (C8), capric acid (C10) and lauric acid (C12). Apart from C6, which is best avoided (it tastes bad and is more likely to cause digestive discomfort), MCTs can be beneficial.

The brain is composed of a network of neurons that transmit signals by propagating nerve impulses. The propagation of this impulse from one neuron to another is typically controlled by neurotransmitters, though there are also electrical pathways between some neurons. Neurotransmitters can inhibit impulse firing (primarily done by γ-aminobutyric acid, or GABA) or they can excite the neuron into firing (primarily done by glutamate). A neuron that releases inhibitory neurotransmitters from its terminals is called an inhibitory neuron, while one that releases excitatory neurotransmitters is an excitatory neuron. When the normal balance between inhibition and excitation is significantly disrupted in all or part of the brain, a seizure can occur. The GABA system is an important target for anticonvulsant drugs, since seizures may be discouraged by increasing GABA synthesis, decreasing its breakdown, or enhancing its effect on neurons.
Advocates for the diet recommend that it be seriously considered after two medications have failed, as the chance of other drugs succeeding is only 10%. The diet can be considered earlier for some epilepsy and genetic syndromes where it has shown particular usefulness. These include Dravet syndrome, infantile spasms, myoclonic-astatic epilepsy and tuberous sclerosis complex.

As of today, I have been on Strict Keto for 20 days straight and I feel great! 20 Days is nothing compared to where I see you guys (3Months/ 6months etc) But 20 is a huge accomplishment and I look forward to saying that I completed a full month of Keto.
I was very skeptical about Keto when I started dieting, I managed to lose 8ish pounds to get down to 257 without Keto but I would just ended up fluctuating weight around there for about a month. After that Month and seeing those results I said screw it, why not try Keto. In the two weeks I’ve been on Keto I’ve lost 11 pounds to get me to 246 (and on the verge of obese and overweight). It really just sheds weight fast and effectively and to anyone like past me just go for it what is there to lose.
Although you must approach fruit with caution on keto, if you are craving something light and sweet, include berries – such as blueberries or raspberries – in moderation. There is one fruit you can consume abundantly on keto: avocados.

Most anyone who has struggled with keto side effects or just hasn’t felt good on a ketogenic diet stands to benefit greatly from exogenous ketones during the adaption phase and beyond. Additionally, for people who have poor liver or gallbladder function, have poor mitochondrial health, or have never tried a ketogenic diet; the process of producing ketones can be stressful.
The targeted ketogenic diet allows you to add extra carbs around workouts, surpassing the SKD 5 percent carb rule, and may be a better option for those who are extremely active and train more than twice per week. The easiest way to see if this is working for you is to keep testing your ketone levels when you add carbs after workouts and make sure that they don’t kick you out of ketosis.
The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet that in medicine is used primarily to treat difficult-to-control (refractory) epilepsy in children. The diet forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates. Normally, the carbohydrates contained in food are converted into glucose, which is then transported around the body and is particularly important in fueling brain-function. However, if there is little carbohydrate in the diet, the liver converts fat into fatty acids and ketone bodies. The ketone bodies pass into the brain and replace glucose as an energy source. An elevated level of ketone bodies in the blood, a state known as ketosis, leads to a reduction in the frequency of epileptic seizures. Almost half of children, and young people, with epilepsy who have tried some form of this diet saw the number of seizures drop by at least half, and the effect persists even after discontinuing the diet. There is some evidence that adults with epilepsy may benefit from the diet, and that a less strict regimen, such as a modified Atkins diet, is similarly effective. The most common adverse effect is constipation, affecting about 30% of patients—this was due to fluid restriction, which was once a feature of the diet, but this led to increased risk of kidney stones and is no longer considered beneficial.

Around this time, Bernarr Macfadden, an American exponent of physical culture, popularised the use of fasting to restore health. His disciple, the osteopathic physician Hugh Conklin, of Battle Creek, Michigan, began to treat his epilepsy patients by recommending fasting. Conklin conjectured that epileptic seizures were caused when a toxin, secreted from the Peyer’s patches in the intestines, was discharged into the bloodstream. He recommended a fast lasting 18 to 25 days to allow this toxin to dissipate. Conklin probably treated hundreds of epilepsy patients with his “water diet” and boasted of a 90% cure rate in children, falling to 50% in adults. Later analysis of Conklin’s case records showed 20% of his patients achieved freedom from seizures and 50% had some improvement.
I really like this made with matcha green tea in the morning. It took me a few months to grow to like it as much as my morning coffee, but now I look forward to it each morning. I think there are lots of nutrient benefits to matcha green tea, but not the same ones as with the coffee. I guess it depends on what you’re going for. I did make buttered tea a couple times with an herbal tea in the afternoon when I wanted to eat everything in sight. The fat in it totally worked to stop my cravings, but it just doesn’t taste that great with herbal tea. I would only do that when I’m desperate.
