I’m desperate to find some answers~I have no history of sensitivity to anything, no allergies. I understand allergies can happen at any time. I started the Keto diet and in a one month time I had four separate episodes of my tongue swelling~each episode worse than the one before. I LOVED this diet~felt great, handled it with ease. The last episode almost put me in the hospital~my tongue was so swollen it was coming out of my mouth making it difficult to swollen and breath. I had no choice but to narrow it down to Ketosis. All the foods were the same that I have eaten all my life. No new meds. The last episode I took 2 Benadryl and pulled myself out of Ketosis with consuming a Dr.Pepper, and 2 pieces of white toast. I was terrified. Everyone on Facebook in all these Keto sites tell me it has nothing to do with Ketosis….but I’ve tried literally everything I consumed when a was on that WOE and I’ve had no reaction in days. My body feels horrible, I have no energy, my entire body aches. I want back on the Keto diet because my body was responding really well to it~except for my tongue.

I have been putting the bone brith collagen in my coffee as I find that it tastes best mixed in coffee. I also just started adding coconut oil and the butter. I started drinking coffee blended with butter and coconut oil for breakfast over a year ago. I loved it. Then about six months ago, I decided I wanted to go even healthier and started making it with match green tea instead of the coffee. I have a slightly sluggish thyroid and thought maybe less caffeine would be beneficial with that. My question is, what type of blender do people use for this? I have gone thru two Nutribullets and recently bought a Ninja blender. In reading the directions for the Ninja, it says in several places not to use hot liquids. In hindsight, I think that is probably why I went thru two Nutribullets in less than a year. Now I am using an immersion blender, but it doesn’t make it very frothy, plus it is messier. Any suggestions? For me, one of the joys of my morning beverage is the hotter the better, so I don’t want to let it cool before blending. Thanks.

The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet that in medicine is used primarily to treat difficult-to-control (refractory) epilepsy in children. The diet forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates. The most common adverse effect is constipation, affecting about 30% of patients—this was due to fluid restriction, which was once a feature of the diet, but this led to increased risk of kidney stones and is no longer considered beneficial.
Rather than relying on counting calories, limiting portion sizes, resorting to extreme exercise or requiring lots of willpower (even in the face of drastically low energy levels), the ketogenic, low-carb diet takes an entirely different approach to weight loss and health improvements. Have you tried ghee? Most people who can’t do dairy CAN do ghee. But if you can’t do ghee, then coconut butter or raw cacao butter will work. Our brain is mostly fat. Our bodies work more efficiently when we are eating lots of healthy fats (and lower carb). I hope that helps.

IMHO, if the organic, grass-fed whipping cream has no sweetener, then they are the same. If you keep whipping the cream, it will turn into butter. The only downside will be if there is sweetener. Are you blending the whipped cream into the coffee or just putting it on top? You could do both.
I was making my own bone broth and drinking a cup of it every day. I was also putting collagen in my Bullet Proof coffee AND I was putting gelatin in a smoothie every day. A little is good…too much can cause lots of problems! I had MAJOR brain fog. WHAT?!!!! That’s one of the reasons I was talking all of that. To heal the leaky gut so I wouldn’t have leaky brain! That last item may surprise you, but for many people, it makes all the difference. Why? When carbs are cut, we rapidly deplete glycogen, the stored form of carbohydrate. For every gram of glycogen we lose, we lose 3 grams of water. Addition of the bouillon will help prevent dehydration and improve the way you feel on the diet. Water isn’t enough on keto; you need enough sodium, too.
Feel free to add sweetener and spices to this if you’re not the biggest fan of the taste. Cinnamon, stevia, vanilla extract. Whatever you’d like to make it great tasting. You can even switch up the taste each and every day so you don’t get bored!
I’ve gained 20 lbs since my boyfriend and I have been together. I’m accountable for my own actions, but when it was just me living alone, I wasn’t making home cooked meals every night, like I do for him (just saying). I’ve been asked to be in 2 weddings so I finally had to do something about my weight because of those lifetime pictures and the embarrassment of dress shopping. I’m now 27 lbs down and still going! I’m still cooking every night, but I’m not adding in tortillas, beans, and rice like I used to with every meal. I feel great and just looking at progress pictures keeps me motivated.
