Keto flu is a very common experience for new ketoers, but it often goes away after just a few days – and there are ways to minimize or even eliminate it. When transitioning to keto, you may feel some slight discomfort including fatigue, headache, nausea, cramps, etc.
Your glycogen stores can still be refilled while on a ketogenic diet. A keto diet is an excellent way to build muscle, but protein intake is crucial here. It’s suggested that if you are looking to gain mass, you should be taking in about 1.0 – 1.2g protein per lean pound of body mass. Putting muscle on may be slower on a ketogenic diet, but that’s because your total body fat is not increasing as much.
Eggs are actually the perfect keto snack. They’re full of healthy fat, high in protein, with zero carbs. This Korean spin on pickled eggs is easy and will keep in the refrigerator for several months, only getting better with time, though they’re so tasty they probably won’t last long. I was very skeptical about Keto when I started dieting, I managed to lose 8ish pounds to get down to 257 without Keto but I would just ended up fluctuating weight around there for about a month. After that Month and seeing those results I said screw it, why not try Keto. In the two weeks I’ve been on Keto I’ve lost 11 pounds to get me to 246 (and on the verge of obese and overweight). It really just sheds weight fast and effectively and to anyone like past me just go for it what is there to lose.
Now, if you’re the kind of person that can’t fast then you can go back and follow week 2 again. That’s no big deal. Though fasting does take some time for the body to get used to, so I suggest putting your best efforts into it.
