Add exercise: A simple 20-30 minute walk everyday can help regulate weight loss and your blood sugar levels. An increased workout routine usually means an adjustment in macros so just because keto gives you more energy don’t assume that things can stay the same when you run a marathon.
On the flip side, others—including some medical experts—believe a well-formulated keto diet is sustainable and meets essential nutrient needs; they also point to increasing research linking the diet to potential health benefits.
You can also simply toss leftovers in salads as long as the combinations make sense. Time and time again we make cheeseburger salad with our leftover cooked ground beef. It’s such an easy way to make lunch!

Ketones provide a much more efficient and cleaner fuel source than glucose. Think of ketones as sourcing the energy for an electric car: you get smooth, quiet, and clean energy. On the other hand, running your body on glucose is equivalent to using diesel fuel: the process is dirty with lots of exhaust.  
“I recommend only 5 percent of calories coming from carbs, which usually averages out to less than 30 grams,” he says. “So, I understand why people get nervous and panic, thinking ‘Can I even eat a salad?’ This is why I recommend tracking only ‘net carbs’, which is total carbs minus fiber. For example, an avocado has 12 grams of carbs but 10 grams of fiber, which means it has 2 grams of net carbs. Also, green leafy vegetables are very nutritious and contain a lot of fiber, so you can almost eat them as much as you want and stay below your limit.”
Full-fat dairy products, such as yogurt, cottage cheese, cream, sour cream, goat cheese, and other cheeses. Note: Dairy should be eaten sparingly, but when you do eat it, stick with full-fat, as it’s more filling and nutritious.
